Your Coach Tour Programme

 

grandTourFriday  – Paris

You’ll leave your chosen departure point early morning for your channel crossing to the continent. Upon arrival in France, you’ll settle into your comfortable reclining seat and watch the rolling scenery glide past as you travel towards your hotel in Paris.

 

Saturday – Paris

This morning you’ll have a fully guided tour of the city’s sights followed by an opportunity to see Paris from the famous glass topped river boats. During the evening you can see ‘Paris by Night’ and take dinner with wine in a typical Parisian restaurant (not included).

 

Sunday – The Swiss Alps

Today, you’ll leave Paris after breakfast and travel through the Alsace region into Switzerland where you’ll check into your hotel in time for dinner.

 

grandTour2Monday – Andermat & Switzerland’s Glacier Express

Today you’ll travel into the snow-capped mountains of Andermatt, where you’ll have an opportunity to ride the famous Glacier Express through some of the world’s most dramatic scenery to Disentis. Here your coach will be waiting to take you back to your hotel for dinner (train tickets extra).

 

Tuesday – Engelberg & Mount Titlis

After breakfast this morning your included excursion takes you high into the Swiss Alps to Obermatt and on to Engelberg where you can take the world famous 360 degree revolving cable car up 10,000ft to the top of Mount Titlis. Given clear conditions, you can photograph the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau peaks before visiting the unbelievable Titlis ice caves (cable car extra). Late afternoon you’ll return to your hotel for dinner.

 

Wednesday – Italy’s Lake Garda

You’ll leave Switzerland after breakfast and head towards the magnificent Italian Lakes, calling at the Sirmione Peninsular of Lake Garda during the afternoon. After free time for personal sightseeing, you’ll check into your hotel in time for dinner.

 

grandTour3Thursday – The Floating City of Venice

Today you’ll travel by boat along Venice’s labyrinth of canalways to St Marks Square where you’ll have the whole day free to explore this unique floating city. Late afternoon it’s back to the mainland and onward to your hotel for dinner.

 

Friday – Lake Garda

A free day to relax, explore and enjoy the ambience of your Lake Garda resort.

 

Saturday – Salzburg & The Austrian Lakes

This morning you’ll leave the coast and travel past the Italian Dolomite Mountains into Austria where you’ll visit Mozart’s birthplace of Salzburg. Here you’ll see the historic old-town with an opportunity to take the rack railway to the castle. Early evening you’ll check into your hotel for dinner.

 

grandTour4Sunday – Vienna

After leaving the Austrian Lake region you’ll follow the path of the river Danube into Vienna, where you’ll see many of the city’s sights before having free time for personal sightseeing. It’s then across the border into Hungary to check into your hotel in time for dinner.

 

 

 

grandTour5Monday – Budapest

Today your included sightseeing excursion takes you to Hungary’s capital city of Budapest. Here you’ll visit both the Buda and Pest districts, divided by the mighty river Danube.  Return to your hotel for dinner.

 

Tuesday – Bratislava & Prague

You’ll leave your hotel after breakfast for a morning visit to the Slovakian capital of Bratislava before crossing into the Czech Republic to arrive Prague late afternoon. After dinner you can see the impressive Stare Mesto old-town and experience the magical ambience of Charles Bridge, complete with artists, musicians and street entertainers.

 

grandTour6Wednesday – Prague Castle

Today, you’ll have a fully included sightseeing tour of Prague’s Hradcany Castle area, followed by a stroll past the colourful handicraft shops of ‘Golden Lane’ before crossing the River Vltava into the old-town and on to Wenceslas Square.  An ideal way to see the city is from the ‘tractor trains’ which start near the famous astronomical clock.  After dinner you might like to visit one of Prague’s traditional old breweries with music.

 

Thursday – Rothenburg & The Rhine Valley

This morning you’ll leave Prague after breakfast for Germany’s Rhineland with an en-route visit to the historic city of Rothenburg on the regions famous ‘Romantische Strasse’. Here you’ll have time to explore its quaint cobbled streets, bustling market square and fairytale houses, completely surrounded by its imposing castle walls.  You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the impressive year-round Christmas Grotto which supplies Europe’s Christkindl Markets with festive decorations and small wooden toys. This evening an optional dinner

Is arranged in a typical Rudesheim winehouse with dancing to live music.

 

Friday – Amsterdam

After breakfast, you’ll check out of your hotel and travel through the dramatic Rhine Gorge towards Koblenz then across the border into Holland to arrive at your hotel near Amsterdam early afternoon. It’s then into the heart of the city to visit the Damrak and Kalverstraat areas before perhaps taking an optional canal boat cruise through old Amsterdam.  During the evening you can join our optional farewell dinner at the famous Floating Sea Palace restaurant in Amsterdam harbour.

 

Saturday – Home

Sadly, you’re coming to the end of your holiday today as we commence our return journey to Calais. After crossing the channel to Dover you’re homeward, arriving in your local area late evening with many happy memories and a host of treasured photographs.
